Familiarization of Superintendents

This course is designed for newly appointed chief engineers and masters who are transitioning from sea-going roles to office-based positions as Technical and Marine Superintendents. It focuses on teaching them how to manage the operations of several vessels from an office located thousands of miles away, utilizing modern tools and skills to achieve success economically while upholding the highest standards of safety and responsibility. Participants will gain proficiency in various key areas, including budgeting and cost control, repair management, fuel consumption analysis, pollution prevention, marine insurance, commercial shipping considerations, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring adherence to both local and international standards.

With 32 years of extensive experience, Mr. Nagaraj Shenoy is a seasoned Marine Engineer skilled in Ocean-going and offshore sailing, New building projects, Technical Supervision/Vessel Management, ISO 9001-2015 Quality Implementation, and the development of new products/courses. Additionally, he serves as a Technical Faculty member, an External Examiner for DG Shipping Phase 2 EK papers and Class 4 Orals, and holds certification as an Independent Director from IICA – MCA.
