Mr. Sandeep Prakash is a distinguished Marine Engineering professional with over 31 years of extensive experience across the maritime industry, marine education, training, auditing, and hospitality management. A graduate of the Directorate of Marine Engineering Training (DMET, now IMU Kolkata) with a Bachelor of Engineering (1992), he also holds a Chief Engineer (MEO Class I – Motor) certification from the Mercantile Marine Department, Kolkata (1998).

Since beginning his maritime career in 1992, Mr. Prakash has built a strong foundation in shipboard operations, maintenance, and management systems. His technical expertise includes preventive maintenance systems (PMS), inventory control, environmental and safety compliance, and vessel dry-dock repairs. He has served as Chief Engineer with Executive Ship Management since 2018, overseeing dry bulk fleet operations while also functioning as an Internal Auditor for ISO, ISM, HSSEQ, VECP, and ISPS systems.

Earlier in his career, between 1993 and 2004, he served on board vessels managed by Great Eastern Shipping (India), Anglo-Eastern Ship Management (Hong Kong), and IMC Shipping Co. Pvt. Ltd. (Singapore), progressing from Junior Engineer to Chief Engineer. From 2005 to 2017, he transitioned to the shore-based industry, holding leadership roles as Technical Head, Project Head, and Facility Head in hospitals and corporate facilities, where he was responsible for technical operations, statutory compliance, and quality management.

Mr. Prakash is a certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2015 and has completed specialized programs such as Finance for Non-Finance Managers (MDI Gurgaon, 2008) and Vertical Integration Course for Trainers (ARI Delhi, 2023). He has conducted independent audits under VECP, HSSEQ, ISPS, and ISO frameworks and is presently associated with ARI Delhi as a Visiting Faculty, delivering training for competency and modular maritime courses.

His additional professional strengths include developing training modules for engineering officers, implementing safety management systems, and ensuring compliance with international standards. He also has significant experience in MEP consultancy, energy conservation, OPEX and CAPEX planning, and quality and environmental audits within the hospitality sector.

With his 31 years of multidisciplinary expertise, Mr. Sandeep Prakash continues to contribute to the advancement of maritime education and operational excellence combining his sea-going experience, audit proficiency, and instructional leadership to strengthen safety and performance standards across the global shipping industry.
